Assassin’s Creed II Dev Diary: Power To The People

Ubisoft released the second segment of their developer diary for Assassin’s Creed II explaining what assistance and help Ezio has in the game, and the types of people he will meet.

This video is about Ezio’s change to an assassin, and his “side switch” so to speak.  He was once a noble, and respected by all, before the people turned on him and his new allies became the criminal underworld.  Now he gets to work with thieves, prostitutes, and mercenaries in different ways to help him get out of sticky situations.  This is starting to look like the introduction of the “variety” the developers claimed they had included in this sequel.

As for Ezio’s assassin training, it turns out that he still has living relatives in the position of his uncle who he hasn’t seen for years.  I’m guessing he turns up after hearing about the murder of his relatives, and ends up training Ezio to become an assassin and to exact revenge upon those that committed the crime.

With more information being revealed about Assassin’s Creed II as time goes by, this sequel is starting to look very promising indeed.  Check out the video for yourselves.
