Meet The Staff: Dave Kap

Hi there!  Dave Kap here!

Sure Kap isn’t really my last name but you wouldn’t want to know it anyway.  It’s too long.  Anyway, I’ll semi-periodically post my editorial opinions here at OLC with random things that pop into my head.  My specialty is telling developers they are retarded or telling developers they are geniuses.  As someone who has actual game development experience (it was one of two concentrations I graduated from college with!) I can say with confidence whether or not your game is making major mistakes or major leaps and bounds.

Like the other writers here, I’ve played games since forever ago.  Although I never did own an NES, I made friends with neighbors just to go to their house and play theirs.  My first system was the original grey Game Boy with Tetris and Mario Land.  Thus began a love affair with video games.  Although I grew up a Nintendo fanboy, I like to think I’ve since discovered that every major platform has its ups and downs.  I’ve tried to play every game of every genre known to man but time constraints have unfortunately kept me away from some series.

You can expect me to be the wildcard of this website.  I’ll try to be the devil’s advocate as often as possible and will often argue with myself.  I don’t have multiple personalities, but I can pretend to if the subject calls for it!

Oh yeah and I really like using parenthesis (they are fun [and so are brackets {and curly braces!}])
