Final Fantasy XIII Trailer Goes English

It’s getting hard to believe, but in just three short months, Final Fantasy XIII will be hitting shelves in Japan.  The Western release of the game has yet to be officially announced, but that didn’t stop Square from releasing an English version of the newest trailer.

Posted early this morning on the official Final Fantasy XIII website, it’s the same trailer from Tokyo Game Show, but with English text and voice acting.  One thing that gamers will notice is the surprising frequency of Australian actors appearing in the game.  Much like Final Fantasy XII before it, it would appear that XIII is looking to expand its setting with a number of unique accents for characters from different regions.  While some of the voice work is slightly questionable, it would appear that Square has largely assembled a solid cast for its flagship HD title.  It’s a good thing, too, because with localization already heavily underway and voice recording for the English version already completed, there won’t be much time for call-backs.
