Upcoming Wiiware Title “Last Flight” Brings Back Classic Hack-and-Slash

Bloober Team’s forthcoming debut title stars a culinary chef, an airport, some vampires and (at least) two butcher knives. Hit the jump for some screens and info.

Last Flight doesn’t feature the standard action hero. Bald, overweight, and critically tongued, Larry Adelman has found himself in a helluva situation. He’s surrounded by the undead, and the only way out is to rip a page from classic beat-em-ups and slash his way out. Bloober Team promises that the humor, pop-culture references, and intense violence (coupled with a waggle-y Wii control scheme) will combine to make this a must have for core gamers on the Wii. The title certainly looks good, and I’m excited to see it run in motion.

It will be a chance to see if independent developers can sell mature titles to the Wii audience. Blooper Team believes that by making the game episodic (and therefore creating an affordable price point) they’ll be able to secure more players than a full price retail release like Sega’s MadWolrd. Time will tell, but I’m anxious to see the results.
