PlaySEGA Launches With Access To SEGA Retro Goodness

SEGA have today announced that PlaySEGA, their new online gaming hub, offering a host of free online games and over forty Genesis/Mega Drive classics, has launched with a free promo deal for SEGA fans.

In order to celebrate the launch of PlaySEGA, the studio is offering all interested parties the opportunity to experience all that PlaySEGA has to offer with a free trial!  Games included in the trial are the complete versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, Ecco the Dolphin and Virtua Fighter 2, with new games being added every week.

They have also an exciting set of features such as the Stuntmaster Motocross and Sonic the Hedgehog Level Creators, where players can create their own levels and show off their game design talent to the community.

Gamers who subscribe to the service after the trial will receive a free PlaySega USB joypad based on the Genesis Controller, and by entering the promotional code ‘segafans’ you can also carve 15% off of your initial subscription fee.  Unfortunately, access to all the games on the site is not available with the standard five day trial (including Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage), but I’m sure there are enough titles like Kid Chameleon to keep people entertained.
