Assassins Creed 2 Dev Diary: Anything Goes
In this, the fourth in the series of Assassins Creed II Development Diaries we’re told “Real violence is brutal and you can’t kill someone by just slashing at them with a sword.” Or that’s what Charles Randall, Team Lead Fight would have you believe. There’s plenty of talk, and visual aids for those who despise conversation, with regards to the differing types of enemies and the ways to disarm them. There’s the Brute, the generic and not very smart stock guard who apparently you can attack, attack and pound on without strategy to ill effect. Then we have the Seeker, he’s the more paranoid guard who will attempt to locate Ezio by searching nearby bales of hay and the like. Finally there’s the Agile guard who essentially is the freerunning variety who is able to adapt and change their strategy depending on the players actions. It’s seemingly a great improvement already over the stale Guard/Templar Knights formula from the first in the series where there was little to no deviation.
If you listen closely you hear the weapons mentioned include maces, two handed weapons, axes, swords, spears, daggers and halberds. All, or any, of which would be very welcome as a Christmas gift please. As long as the cover says Assassins Creed II that is.
