Assassin’s Creed: Lineage = Huge Worldwide Hit

Ubisoft yesterday announced that the first of the three episodes from the new Assassin’s Creed: Lineage short movies that made its debut on YouTube on October 27, 2009, was the most watched video on YouTube with over 1.7 million views worldwide in a period of 24 hours. As of today it appears that across the various European official AC2 language YouTube portals the total views thus far tally to 2,358,769. That’s quite impressive considering it only accounts for four nations, Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
All the three episodes in the Assassin’s Creed: Lineage short film series will be showcased online on November 13, 2009 after the first TV broadcast in several countries. Revolving around Ezio’s father, Giovanni Auditore da Firenze. The short films have been developed by Hybride Technologies, the visual effects studio behind 300 and Sin City, and Ubisoft Digital Arts, and give insight on the game’s back story as well as the universe of Assassin’s Creed.
