Dante’s Inferno Heats Up DVD And Blu-Ray Next February

It’s fairly safe to say that Dante, from Dante’s Inferno, loves abuse.  Not only will you put him through Hell next February in EA’s adaptation of the classic The Divine Comedy…but you’ll do it watching him in the home entertainment form known as anime.  Starz Media’s Film Roman company is unleashing Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie, on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Both the game and animated movie are based on the first part Dante Alighieri’s classic poem, The Divine Comedy, better known as “Dante’s Inferno.” Each takes players and viewers on a stunning journey through the nine circles of Hell as Dante travels through limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery in search of his true love, Beatrice.

To give added distinction among each of the nine circles Dante travels through, EA and Film Roman are taking the innovative step of commissioning unique visions from multiple studios with experience creating some of the top anime in the industry to tell this classic story.  Each episode hails from the best animation studios within the USA, Japan and Korea.  As well as providing more insight into the characters and story adaptation featured within the Dante’s Inferno game, the movie explores aspects of the poem that Visceral’s thrilling action adventure does not so in order to get a more complete experience we guess it’s worth checking out eh?

Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie isn’t the first time that these two powerhouses, EA and Film Roman, have collaborated.  They last jumped in bed together for the critically, and commercially successful Dead Space: Downfall which was released in 2008 on DVD.  The trailer provided above should give you folks an idea of what to expect when it hits.

Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie is due to be released on Blu Ray and DVD on February 8th 2010, and if you want more information on the title you can see it at the following link.
