The Fresh Prince Of Persia Has Skills In This Dev Diary
It’s the end of another week, so here’s another quite awesome look at Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. There are all sorts of interesting reveals within this development diary in which the level design director for the title, Michael McIntyre, talks about how the design revolving around the forces of nature.
Each element we can see has associated attacks or actions which allow The Prince to do some pretty impressive things. The Air element allows The Prince to “dash” across greater distances which can either end in an attack, or be performed to reach areas unaccessible by conventional travel. Earth grants you what is best described as Stone Armour, allowing you to withstand greater amounts of attacks and with the massive swarm of enemies you see in the video you’ll probably appreciate this one more. Earth also utilises what I can best describe as the Energize function from 2008′s Prince of Persia Epilogue – a power which rebuilds the destroyed scenery around you in order to allow you to get past impossibly difficult situations.
The other powers are demonstrated within the video so I’ll not spoil those for you but needless to say that it’s obvious that the team behind the title have given this title an incredible amount of thought with regards to level design and progression for the player. Other awesome soundbites before I leave you to watch the clip. “Massively Epic Boss Battle” and “Djinn Razia” Check the video out below!
