PSN: Rag Doll Kung Fu Coming April 9th
It’s starting to look a bit like DLC Day today. First Resident Evil 5 gets a Versus Mode, then Live gets Virtual On…now, it’s PSN’s turn. Sony announced today that Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic will be launching April 9th, exclusively on PSN.
Created by Mark Healey, one of the minds behind Sony and Media Molecule’s excellent LittleBigPlanet, Rag Doll Kung Fu is a four-player physics-based fighting game, originally released several years ago on the PC. Unlike other fighting games that use pre-canned combo attacks and special moves, it allows players to independently control all aspects of their characters’ toy-like bodies. This allows for over-the-top, silly combat similar in some ways to LittleBigPlanet‘s freeform arm control for Sackboy. Players can also pick up weapons and perform special attacks, adding to the combat’s silliness. It might not be as serious as something like BlazBlue or Street Fighter IV, but for a PSN title that seems destined to be used as a party game, that doesn’t seem like much of a problem.
The PS3 port of the game comes with four-player versus matches in a variety of game types, playable both online and locally, as well as a large degree of character customization (even including what looks to be a cameo from Sackboy himself!). The game also supports trophies, as do all PS3 games from this point onward. While I haven’t played the PC version of the game, I’ll definitely be giving this one a look as the release draws nearer. it looks like that game that came out for xbox a while ago. Kung Fu Chaos? I don’t remember the title but I remember Davis and I would play it for hours on end. When I wasn’t playing that game with Davis I would probably be playing it with RJ. Oh, I remeber those days of playing that game with all the play time. I would always pick the Gen Fu of the game and just play and play and play. Sometimes when I played it I would eat food but then other times when I played it I wouldn’t eat food. Then this one time when I was playing it I was like “WHOA! Mom check this out! LOOK AT WHAT I JUST DID! MOM! MOM! MOOOOMMMM!!! CHECK OUT WHAT I JUST DID!!” then she did and was angry that I called her away from doing whatever moms do in their spare time. There was this ninja guy in the game, he was cool, and this guy that looked like Johnny Cage, less cool but still pretty cool, and this girl that looked alot like a girl who was less cool than Johnny Cage but still wasn’t too bad. That game overall was pretty good, I liked it.
