Capcom: Resident Evil 5 Ships 4 Million Units

How’s this for some nice news to wake up to on a Monday morning?  Capcom has confirmed today that their initial shipment of Resident Evil 5 has shipped over four million copies worldwide.  While these are shipment numbers and not retail sales, they’re important because it shows a large amount of retailer support for the game.  According to Capcom, the RE5 demo was downloaded over 4 million times around the world, and with those numbers it’s bound to have been preordered quite a bit as well.  It’s clear that the multiplatform strategy Capcom has laid down this generation has truly paid off, with Devil May Cry 4, Street Fighter IV, nd now Resident Evil 5 all performing quite well on the PS3 and 360.  Good work, Capcom.  Now, bring on Dead Rising 2!

Our review of Resident Evil 5 will be up within the next few days, so stay tuned.
