Ghostbusters: 5 Minute Hands-On [PC]
I got to play Ghostbusters for the PC for about 5 minutes using a controller. Here’s a quick point by point.
- It’s very pretty. The whole thing looks incredibly polished and current-gen. No worries here about slow framerates or low-quality, low-detail objects, levels, or models. It just looks right.
- The destruction of all the random stuff looks great. The animation of the beams looks good too. The ghosts themselves also look good.
- The whole thing controlled well but I wasn’t particularly fond of the default button setup they were using with the controller. However, as a PC game, this should be bindable in the final product.
- All the sounds were great. It was pretty obvious who was saying what with the voice actors sounding just as they did in the movie.
- The comedy is still there and it’s working pretty well. I see this to actually be the main draw of the game, similar to Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. This is a parody game.
- I fought a ghost made of books which consisted of destroying the books until the ghost showed up, who I then had to hit even more in order to weaken him and get him into the capture beam. Unfortunately I couldn’t play long enough to be successful, especially considering I wasn’t handy with the control set.
Basically, it looks to be a really fun experience and with just the 5 minute hands-on I can already tell I want to buy it. Let’s hope the whole thing is as polished as what I got to play! Therfore I implore you to go get your pre-order and I’m sure you get some special gift, as usual! Go! Now! Please! Stop reading this and pre-order! *Hard sell!*
