Tales of Vesperia Lolifies on PS3

tales-of-vesperia-logoWe’ve known Tales of Vesperia is coming to the PS3 for about a week now, but due to its small presence in the leaked scans, there hasn’t been that much information.  This morning, that all changed. How? When Namco held a Tales press conference, that’s how!

Along with the formal announcements of Tales of Graces on Wii and Tales of Versus on the PSP, Namco Bandai’s Tales staff laid out the new changes to the PS3 version of the game, and surprisingly enough it’s no straight port.  Like Eternal Sonata before it, Tales of Vesperia is gaining considerable amounts of new content when it makes the jump to the PS3 this fall.

Some of the changes that have already been confirmed include:
-  New character Patty Fruel, a young pirate girl who joins the party early on in the story
-  The entire main story will now be voiced thanks to a lack of disc space concerns
-  New boss fights, including the recurring Sword Dancer boss from Tales of Symphonia
-  New attacks, special moves, and Mystic Artes
-  New costumes
-  New sidequests

The Tales team has also confirmed that more new content is in the works, and that some of the new content in the PS3 version will tie in with the recently announced Tales of Vesperia: First Strike animated film.  Still no word on whether this port is coming Stateside, but considering the fact that Eternal Sonata made the jump and the Tales series has a considerably higher amount of popularity in the States than Eternal Sonata ever did, chances are good that we will see it.
