Telltale Games Easter Surprise: Surfin’ The Highway

Today I received a strangely shaped package in the post from Telltale Games. Inside I discovered that not had they sent both Season One and Two of the critically acclaimed series – but the recently Eisner Nominated ‘Surfin’ The Highway’ reprint of the original comics! I had a quick look at the graphic novel and I must say that the humor, and art style, is definately to my liking. Once I’ve given it a thorough read through I’ll give my impressions here. Also, check back at some point for my playthrough of the first two seasons in anticipation of the third, which is due for release sometime this year – likely once Wallace & Gromit runs it’s course. It’ll be interesting to see how the series evolves in terms of gameplay mechanics as the beauty of episodic gaming allows for experimentation with the format.

Both seasons one and two of the series are available now for PC from the Telltale Store. The Wii release of Season One is available from retail outlets, with the Xbox LIVE release coming later this year.

You know, I’m not sure I want to hear about your strangely shaped package. You should probably get that examined.

I haven’t picked up Season 2 yet, but Season 1 feels just right. It definitely takes me back, since I was raised on PC adventure games like it. I think you’ll really enjoy them.

    *yoinks the comic.

Also, do you have any rabid wolverines?
