LittleBigPlanet Recaptures My Childhood

littlebigplanetI’ve already spoken at length about the creative power that lies within Sony and Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet.  You’ve already heard about LittleBig Contra, you’ve played the Metal Gear Solid pack…but this is a little different.  This afternoon on the Playstation Blog, Media Molecule posted their latest issue of the recurring “Sack It To Me” series, often released soon before or after a piece of major DLC was released; in today’s case, the new Creator Pack that launched last night involved a number of new features for level creators to tinker with, including the ability to give Sackboy infinite lives, jetpacks that can fly anywhere, and the ability to make bolts, the glue that hold more complex in-game devices together, invisible.  Definitely a nice upgrade, and all for free!

With it, they also posted several videos of some of their picks for new, interesting levels to look out for.  All three are worth watching, but this one in particular, titled Cause and Effect 3, particularly stood out to me, for reasons that will become abundantly clear when you watch it.  THIS is the kind of creativity LittleBigPlanet was born to promote.  Take a look, then go check the post on the PS Blog to see the others.

Also, a hearty congratulations to the LittleBig Contra team, for getting Crowned by Media Molecule!  Nice work, guys!

Also me and mav spent an entire night with those Contra levels and it was some ridiculous amounts of fun.
