Glimpse the Post-Post Apocolypse in Trailer for Fallout 3′s New DLC

Broken Steel, due out tomorrow on the Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points, promises to let players pick up their Fallout 3 games from the game’s conclusion and head back out into the deadlands.

The trailer highlights a number of the new features of the content, including new missions alongside the Brotherhood of Steel and their trusty robotic companion Liberty Prime. Seems like the player will be pitted against the authoritarian Enclave yet again, this time heading to new locales like Andrews Air Force Base. Bethesda seems to have beefed up the selection of heavy weapons too, offering a new high powered Tesla Cannon and heavy flame thrower.

What excites me most about the DLC is the opportunity to revisit the people and places that you already dealt with in your original play through. Hopefully a few quests will be given concrete resolution (though I hope that they leave a few others ambiguous, for thematic reasons.) The trailer gives a few hints about how the wastelands will be affected by the dramatic conclusion of the game, and it will be interesting to see if things turn around after such a major win for the good guys.

Hopefully we’ll have DLC impressions in the coming days. Stay tuned!
