Square’s New Billboards Confirm Final Fantasy XIII 2010 Release
Square-Enix has finally committed to a year for the US release of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII. While it doesn’t come with any trumpet calls or an official press release, this shot of a new three-piece billboard in Los Angeles sends the message loud and clear: US gamers will have Final Fantasy XIII in their hands sometime in 2010. The photo was posted on the Square-Enix Members Blog, then filtered through popular internet message forum NeoGaf. The official Japanese FFXIII site lists a Winter 2009 release, allowing time for the translation to finish and for the hype-trains to roll their way to the USA.
This news comes hot on the heels of word that SE’s income went down by 31% this year. Only time will tell how big a hit the premiere Japanese RPG franchise will be in America, but I’d be willing to place a firm bet that it will easily outsell the under-performing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which graced that triptych billboard previously.

This is good news. I was worried we’d have to wait until 2011 with things we’ve heard recently.
That said, i wish I could see those in person. They look awesome.
F*ck Chinatown Wars, it’s all about that Final Fantasy, bby.
itll still be 2011 Europe :(
