Final Fantasy VII Rated For Playstation Store

Are your seatbelts fastened? Get ready, Playstation fans. This morning, the ESRB updated with a new listing, and it’s one you might be pleased to hear. That’s right, Final Fantasy VII has been rated for the PS3 and PSP.
It’s hard to believe that this legendary RPG has existed for over 12 years, spawning spin offs (Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core), movies (Advent Children) and countless bad cosplay suits, but never a true remake. Rumors have been surfacing for a remake for years, but this addition of the PS1 Classics version of the game could mean that an HD Final Fantasy VII is a lot farther off than we might like. While no date has been confirmed as of yet, the fact that Advent Children Complete releases in the US the day of Sony’s E3 press conference means that Tuesday is as good a time as any to expect this landmark title to hit the Playstation Store. You’re free to keep the remake wishes coming, but it looks like we won’t be seeing one for quite some time.

This will definitely stop the scalpers from the insane prices for a copy of FF7. Prices ranged from 200-500$ online not anymore.
I agree whole heartedly, though I still own a greatest hits copy! The prices were outrages, I bought mine brand new at Kay B Toys for only $15!!!
I already played through ff7 on psp using cfw it was good to play again. It would be nice if the early tech demo for ff7 was made into a full game.

I’ve played FF7 since I was 9 years old, back in 1997 when my cousin handed me his playable demo that came with his issue of GamePro, and bought it later that year. I’ve loved this game and it has honestly had an impact on my life and how I view things- maybe not necessarily directly, but the lessons I’ve learned with my friends on a couch/in a car/at the pool with our PSPs can’t be overlooked. This game has brought a closeness with my friends and family over such an intricate and integral part of gaming history that should it be remade, it *must* be in original form, though updated. Take it to a more powerful system, and use every iota of the damn thing to play it- just leave the story as is.
Thank you Sony for making me your bitch 12 years ago. Best night of my life =P
