Tetris Friends: There Will Be Blocks
Recently, Lucas Hannon linked me to Tetris Friends, a website featuring a flash based version of the puzzle classic. Now, I’m not exactly a Tetris maniac, nor am I a fan of flash-based games. Although….when one of the other writers on OLC throws down the gauntlet, BY GOD I will pick it up.
So I went to the website, signed up, and started playing. And let me just say, I haven’t had this much fun with Tetris in a while. Tetris Friends features several game modes, from the familiar Classic, Marathon, or Versus modes, to newer modes that take advantage of the large online community. 5P Sprint is a race between five players to clear 40 lines the quickest, and 6P Battle is a no hold’s barred battle royal. Almost all of the game modes are timed, and filling up an enemy’s screen cause a “KO”, rather than just ending the game outright. In addition, the site tracks statistics, has a leaderboard, and rewards victory with tokens that can be used to customize your game and unlock new modes. All in all, a great time-waster.
But by far the best reason to start playing Tetris Friends is to finally show all those uppity casual gamers what time it is.
Hit the link below to check it out. And if you’re on the “Face Books”, there’s a version for that, too.

Thank goodness you left out the part where you whooped my ass.
@Lucas Hannon – Well, I wouldn’t want to PUBLICLY HUMILIATE YOU by telling the world how COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY I DESTROYED YOU at Tetris Friends. That would be wrong.
