2K Sports See Ovechkin As Cover Athlete For NHL 2K10

While Sid the Kid is hoisting the cup  after the Penguins’ Stanley Cup win, twenty-nine other teams are already looking to 2010. And when they do, they’ll be looking at the Alex Ovechkin’s mug on 2K Sports yearly hockey series NHL 2k10.

Alex Ovechkin,  2009’s Maurice “Rocket” Richard Award and alternate captain for the of the Washington Capitals is the latest and the greatest to grace 2K’s ice game. He will be joining prior cover stars such as Rick Nash, Jason Spezza and Jason Spezza. Ovechkin is a rising star in the National Hockey League, leading the NHL in goals scored for the last two seasons.

2k Sports’ NHL 2k10 is predicted to be released sometime in September.
