Marvel vs. Capcom 2 – Delayed?

Looking forward to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 next week?  Well, a recent Twitter post from the Official Capcom blog suggests that the landmark 2D fighter might be delayed, or perhaps, never officially given a release date at all.

“No official release date for MVC2 as of yet. Digital release dates can be tricky. Do not expect before end of July, tho.”

Initially slated for a June 29 release, this date has been put into question with a now-removed tweet from the Official Capcom Twitter blog.

The tweet has since been removed, and now replaced with a follow up of:

“dear internet, mvc2 is not late. Lol”

Hardly a firm confirmation or denial, but one does have to return to the initial announcement of the June 29th release date for clarification. The leaked release date came initially from Marvel on a Q1 press release, not from publisher Capcom nor the developer Backbone Entertainment. In fact, sixteen days after Marvel’s announcement, Capcom informally debunked Marvel’s estimate of a June 29th release date.

“All I can say right now is that Capcom has not announced an official release date.  We should be making an official announcement in the next few weeks.”

So where did Marvel get a June 29th release date at all?  It wouldn’t be hard to believe someone at Marvel might have confused it with the release date for the original Dreamcast version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 …which just happened to be June 29, 2000.  More likely than not, some clarification should be made by the parties involved before next week, but it might be a good idea to prepare yourselves just in case it doesn’t appear.

Capcom makes me mad. How hard is it to release a digital game, one already perfected, onto the nets. I bought points for this shit. Now I really don’t care if it comes out or not, I prefer to not be apart of the waiting game by abunch of game developers who don’t need money anymore. The world is falling apart and these dushbags want so much money for games nowadays. I hate waiting for games that become delayed. And the fact that most websites can’t inform us is retarted and lazy. Capcom stop respewing your own crap and make some new games. I mean great games. Megaman has been whored out, B-Commando sux, theres hundreds of remakes. Just make MvC3, Megaman 3d and so on

I’ll spend my points on Fallout 3’s new content. Forget MvC2. I get the feeling Capcom hates America and is why they and Nintendo never fully give gamers what they want. That’s why they wadte us with remakes becuase were stupid american kids who buy the same things. God Forbid America could make awesome games anymore.

Yeah I know, my grammer needs work when it comes to fast typing. If MvC3 will never be made because they know we want it. Megaman will never be high quality 3d and adult based. I mean I want Megaman and his bad brothers to look like something out of Transformers meets Veltron. Something new and exciting to relaunch. Hell I even take a remake of the first 3 stories and put together as an epic story rather than another version of the game I played to death when I was young. All it takes is an idea, or one stolen from a nobody like me. Forget nintendo’s old school games, there done, expensive, childish and OLD. Sorry everybody I’m still pissed about Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
