Final Fantasy VII on PSN Sells 100,000
It shouldn’t be a huge surprise; people like Final Fantasy VII. Since the game’s release on the Playstation Network back at E3, the PS3/PSP-compatible downloadable version of the game has racked up 100,000 sales, breaking PSN records. That’s right, in the two weeks since the game’s release, Final Fantasy VII has sold 100,000 copies; not bad for a 12-year-old PS1 ROM, eh? Sony’s sure proud of the sales, trumpeting it as a sign of “continue[d] loyalty to the PlayStation platform and critically-acclaimed franchise”. The game has also broken records as being the fastest-selling PS1 Classic ever released on the PlayStation Network, taking the #1 download slot every week since it hit the Store. It just goes to show you that when Square Enix actually finds the time to release something on the PS3, people tend to buy it.
Sony has also confirmed that Wild ARMs 2 will be coming to the PSN this summer alongside a slew of other PS1 Classics; this should come as no surprise to our faithful readers, who found out only a few short days ago that the game had been rated by the ESRB. So I ask you, readers; have you downloaded Final Fantasy VII on PSN? If so, how far in have you made it? I’ve torn through the game at a speed I never thought possible, having reached Disc 3 on Saturday morning – it’s all side-quests from here. Maybe I’ll actually beat Emerald Weapon this time…

I was sort of hoping this game would sell at least a million or some other ridiculous number, that way Square would not be able to ignore the love for this game and make a remake.
@Valnen – i agree but the year i still young i hope it does at least 500,000-700,000. if SE would have given us FF7 remake, waiting for FF13 would have been more tolerable.
