Demon’s Souls Gets the Working Designs Treatment

Working Designs was a localization team largely active during the PS1 era, known for their colorful translations and value-packed limited editions.  In their absence, Atlus has stepped in to fill the void with a Deluxe Edition of Demon’s SoulsHaving recently announced their English version of Sony’s ultra-hardcore demon slaying RPG for release this fall, it was only a matter of time before details on its release began to slip out.  Surely enough, as a Fourth of July gift for their faithful fans, Atlus let out not only the release date of the game, but also the details on how it will be appearing on shelves in the United States.

First and foremost, Demon’s Souls will be shipping exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on October 6th in North America, so mark your calendars, RPG fans.  Secondly, in an attempt to discourage potential customers from just importing the game, Atlus is also readying a Deluxe Edition, containing quite a few goodies to make the wait even more worth it.  While the game will also be shipping in a $60 regular edition, the $70 Deluxe Edition of Demon’s Souls comes in a special package that also sports a 150+ page strategy guide, exclusive to the limited package.  Considering the difficulty level of the game, and just how many secrets and hidden paths are contained within the cursed land of Boletaria (and believe me, I know from experience!), this is quite the deal.

Atlus has also let slip that any preorder of Demon’s Souls, regardless of which version you pick up, will come with a preorder-exclusive art book.  I’ve already explained at length why you need to play this game, so I expect all of you to get yourselves a preorder slapped down on this game before it releases.  After all, I haven’t had a chance to hop into Black Phantom mode and take down some other players in a few weeks…

Looks like I will be spending the next couple of months rounding up money for this and Kingdom hearts. I’m sure it will be worth it though.
