Onslaught Of Lucasarts Titles To Hit Steam, Xbox Live
File this one under “F”. For “**** YEAH!” The reason for which will have you cheering and clapping wildly so read on!
Those of you with your ears to the ground are no doubt already aware that the adventure gaming classic “Monkey Island” is getting an overhaul from developer Telltale Game’s in the form of “Tales of Monkey Island”. The first episode of Tales of Monkey Island hit the PC and WiiWare on July 7th. More episodes are planning for the upcoming five months. And while a new chapter in the saga of Guybrush Threepwood is plenty to get fans of 90s PC gaming excited, what you might not have known is that Tales is bringing friends.
A lot of friends.
On July 15th, Lucasarts will release “The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition” on Steam and Xbox Live Arcade. The game is a remake of the original title with updated 1080i graphics and voice acting. There’s even a feature that allows you to switch between Classic and Updated modes in gameplay, which will be cool for contrast, if nothing else.
On that very same day, ten more titles are hitting Steam:
- Armed and Dangerous ™
- Indiana Jones ® and the Fate of Atlantis
- Indiana Jones ® and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
- LEGO ® Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
- LOOM ™
- Star Wars Battlefront ® II
- Star Wars Republic Commando ®
- Star Wars Starfighter ™
- The Dig ®
- Thrillville ® : Off the Rails ™
And more classic titles are promised for the future. Hopefully not too soon… my wallet weeps at the prospect of shelling out for these all at once…
Oh, and Lucasarts? If you could give us a remake of some of the Xwing games, with new multiplayer support? That would be… really… really awesome.

Never heard of LOOM before.
I definitely plan on getting the updated Monkey Island title “The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition” on the 15th tho.
The Dig!!
