Assassin’s Creed II: Meet Ezio

More is revealed about Assassin’s Creed II, and its new protagonist Ezio in this first developer diary. A direct sequel to the first Assassin’s Creed, the modern day protagonist of Desmond now finds himself taking on the memories of Ezio, a nobleman during the Italian Renaissance.  With his family ripped away from him, Ezio takes on the art of the assassin to exact vengeance and justice. The player will step into the role of Ezio as Desmond’s next ancestor and continue the overall story of Assassin’s Creed as a series.

I find Ezio to be a character with a lot more substance than the first iteration’s protagonist Altair.  There’s more background story to Ezio, and more motivation for him to become an assassin.  With a more complex character, I hope the developers for Assassin’s Creed II will be able to fill out the rest of the game’s characters and story with interesting, fresh material.
