Final Fantasy XIV Comes Without Experience. What?

This one’s a little stranger than I’m used to hearing, never mind considering.  Apparently the upcoming MMO Final Fantasy XIV, according to a video interview with Famitsu, won’t feature levelling or experience!  What?Producer Hiromichi Tanaka has stated that “this time, there will be no experience points or level system,” which to me translates as Square Enix attempting to tap into the casual gaming market in order to capitalize on the success of titles such as Free Realms.

Further evidence to support this comes from the mouth of series director Nobuaki Komoto, who told Famitsu that Square Enix wants “people who may never have tried an online game before have the freedom to try many different things….”
