Modern Warfare 2 Pre-Order Madness
Looks like a hell of a lot of people want Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. So many that the game has broken pre-order records.
More specifically, it has broken Activision’s pre-order record. Modern Warfare 2 has become the company’s most pre-ordered game ever, and I cannot say that I would be surprised if it broke the world record for most pre-ordered title.
A small part of me almost expects the game to be so highly anticipated, considering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare sold over fourteen million copies itself. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to the game, so the majority of those that bought the first game, are likely to purchase the sequel.
This news is rather ironic, since after finding out about the resistance to the price increase of the title, we find out that people are buying it anyway. I would suggest the reason for this being brand power, or the quality and popularity of games made by Infinity Ward (see Call of Duty 4 sales figures).
So, what are you doing about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? As for myself….be right back, I need to go and pre-order my copy.
I foresee many many people out at midnight when this game is released.
That said, I don’t plan on preordering this. I’ll get it for PC when I feel like it, but I’m not amazing at shooters so it can wait. I’m getting a PSP and I’d like to get games for it instead.
when this game comes out i’m going to cream everywhere and never go outside again, it will basically be the end of America as we know it. people will stop going to work and the economy will be worse than ever. there will be nobody to pick-up the garbage, mow lawns, or keep the peace, or repair electricity outlets, everyones isp’s will go out of business because nobody is going to work and just playing modern warfare 2, there will be massive riots for the lack of food and water, Infinity Ward people will be the only survivors because of all the money coming in…..and we all will be ruled by the Amish.
